French Mother Tongue Support - For native French-speaking children attending a Local, ESF or an International School *
For native French-speaking children who can understand and/or speak some of the language, with at least one native French-speaking parent, and who follow the local, ESF or international school system (other than French).
According to his/her age and level, your child will:
- increase his/her listening comprehension and oral communication skills, including proper pronunciation;
- develop his/her reading and spelling skills;
- acquire an interest in French culture.
The main emphasis is on helping your child become truly bilingual and maintaining contact with his/her cultural heritage.
Note: these courses are in line with IB philosophy regarding mother tongue support for children schooled in a language other that their mother tongue.
For families living in Discovery Bay or Lantau, please see "Les Petits Lascars de DB", a FLAM accredited project which offers after-school French classes for native French speaking children schooled at Discovery College, Discovery Bay International School or Lantau International School.
Note: Should you want to enrol but find that the classes offered do not match your child's schedule, please contact us. If enough people are interested in an alternative time for the class, we will be happy to set it up: we only need a minimum of 4 students to start a new class. |
